A fire burned about 1 acre of brush near Piihana Farms in Wailuku before it was extinguished Sunday afternoon, a fire official said.
Wailuku and Kahului firefighters responded to the fire, which was reported at 12:10 p.m. Despite windy conditions, crews quickly knocked down flames and contained the fire in about an hour, said Fire Services Chief Rylan Yatsushiro. He said the fire was extinguished at 1:36 p.m.
The cause was unknown.
